So on a recent trip to Paris I visited one of the most eclectic and inspirational stores.. Merci Paris! A concept store housed in an elaborately reconfigured 19th-century fabric factory. Inside, three loft-like floors heave with furniture, jewellery, fashion and household products.
Merci contains an all encompassing “the one and the other” approach – you don’t have to choose between the traditional or the modern, the simple of the costly, Merci instead brings together products, designs, styles that typically have not been put together. Vintage furniture placed next to contemporary creations, limited edition pieces placed amongst already recognised collections – Merci brings all the elements together under one roof to create one of the most bizarrely stylish fashion and lifestyle stores I have been to.
This shop is like a magazine; a place where young designers can showcase their fresh emerging style.
I love the raw, honesty of this store – designs seem effortlessly put together yet carefully created at the same time…
It’ the quirky ‘carelessness’ that gives these designs their charm and to better this, all the profits made from the store are given to charity.. MERCI!
Simple but curious… Merci, Paris’s latest concept shopping sensation – a highly recommended visit.
